The Tokyo Ghoul series has officially ended on the 5th of July 2018. The series has been around for about 7 years. While I was reading the manga and I saw the very last page of the last chapter. It said 'The End' and I thought to myself WHAT ?. I never really paid attention to the series.
I don't know why but I was never really into the anime or the manga but I kept getting drawn back to it. My uncle and sister love this anime and whenever they talk about certain details I have no idea what they are talking about because I usually would have forgotten about those kinds of things.
I would always get lost when reading the manga though which is why I preferred the anime cause it just made more sense to me. I have to admit I was disappointed with Touka's character development throughout the series. I liked her character in the first season and loved seeing how bad ass she was. Her character becoming softer over time is understandable because that is usually what happens when those kind of characters start to open up around other characters. But I didn't like how 'weak' she had become in Tokyo ghoul: re.
This is something that kind of annoys me in anime. The bad ass female characters just don't stay bad ass. You can be bad ass and vulnerable at the same time.
Over all I enjoyed watching / reading this series but I always thought that there was something 'off' about it or it was missing something. I was surprised by the sudden ending and thought the series would go on for about 10 years like other popular series.
